North American Testing is an ANSI accredited company providing product certification to NSF/ANSI Standard 40, NSF/ANSI 46, NSF/ANSI Standard 245 and NSF/ANSI Standard 350.  As an independent, third party certifier, NAT conducts audits and issues certificates stating that a product complies with a specific set of criteria outlined in the standards for safety, quality and performance.  Certified products will bear the NAT Mark to let state regulators know the product has passed stringent testing and help consumers make confident purchasing decisions.  The NAT Mark means that the product complies with all of the standard's requirements.  NAT conducts annual audits to verify that the product continues to comply with the standard.

North American Testing maintains its field testing facilities in Norwalk, Ohio, USA. The facility can simultaneously evaluate 21 separate treatment systems, each with a flow of up to 3,000 gallons per day. The multi-acre secured test site includes a 3,000 square foot office, laboratory, classroom and dosing facility. The laboratory incorporates state-of-the-art equipment and conforms to ISO/IEC Standard 17025. A master PLC manages the dosing to all test sites to provide automated and accurate hydraulic loading.

The NAT research site is adjacent to and immediately upstream of the Norwalk municipal wastewater treatment plant. The force main supplying wastewater to the test site provides a source of wastewater from homes and light commercial buildings with no industrial component. This characteristic is essential for testing innovative onsite treatment technologies.
